Modular Lantern: Frame, Lid, Pole and Foundation - Low Poly Design

Modular Lantern: Frame, Lid, Pole and Foundation - Low Poly Design

This is the low poly design of the modular lantern LR2268. Serving as the project’s foundation, it includes the frame, lid, pole, and foundation. You can pair these with various side panel designs to construct anything from a small candlelight holder to a fully extended lamp with a post and foundation.

Design Inspiration

The concept behind this design is to offer a lantern with interchangeable parts, enabling creativity and adaptability. Start with a simple candlelight holder and expand it into a more sophisticated lamp with a lid and stand. You can effortlessly switch side panel designs, infusing fresh aesthetics into your lantern.

Each component within the LR2268 series shares the same connecting geometries, ensuring compatibility. If I release alternative designs, you can mix and match them with your existing components, encouraging a dynamic approach to customization.

Dimensions and Compatibility

The dimensions are designed to accommodate almost every 3D printer, with materials such as PETG or PLA being the recommended choices due to their durability and ease of use.

Optional Upgrades

Consider adding an LED light for additional functionality. I have experimented with various diffusor models that enhance light distribution. My recommended choice is the LR2268-64 (1+2), printed in transparent PETG. You can find different models in the files section for further experimentation.

Feel free to dive into endless customization possibilities with side panel themes like Anton Firsik’s forest or Kristina’s bird and flower designs.
