I designed this simple five-point star frame as an ornament with various applications. The variants with one hole can be used to hang them as decorations, while those with no holes are perfect if you wish to glue or tape them to surfaces. The models featuring a hole at each tip are intended for creating mobiles by connecting more stars or other decorations at each tip using ribbons.
These star frames work wonderfully as part of an advent calendar, allowing you to hang 24 small gift boxes from the tips of various stars.
Dimensions
The model file name follows this format:
LR2278-<point count>-S<shape>-H<holes>-Z<thickness>-D<diameter>.3mf
Point Count
The first number after the project number indicates how many points the star has. On Printables, you’ll find stars with six to nine points. However, the parametric Fusion360 design allows you to create stars with even more points.
Shape (S)
The shape is the percentage of the inner corner diameter:
55
= 55% Flat spikes45
= 45% Balanced spikes35
= 35% Pointy spikes
Holes (H)
The holes value has the following meaning:
0
= No holes1
= One single holea
= One hole at every tip.
Thickness (Z)
The thickness is indicated in millimeters. For example, 4
stands for 4mm.
Diameter (D)
The diameter of an imaginary circle around the tips, in millimeters. For example, 300
stands for 300mm.
