I designed this simple nine-point star frame as an ornament with various uses. The variants with one hole can be used to hang them as decoration, but there are also variants with no holes, perfect for gluing or taping to a surface. The models with a hole at each tip are meant for building a mobile, allowing you to connect additional stars or other decorations at each tip using ribbons.
These stars also work wonderfully as part of an advent calendar, where you can create a mobile and hang 24 small gift boxes from the tips of various stars.
Dimensions
The model file names follow this format:
LR2278-<point count>-S<shape>-H<holes>-Z<thickness>-D<diameter>.3mf
Point Count
The first number after the project number indicates how many points the star has. While you will find six to nine-point stars here, the parametric Fusion360 design allows for creating stars with even more points.
Shape (S)
The shape is the percentage of the inner corner diameter:
55
= 55% Flat spikes45
= 45% Balanced spikes35
= 35% Pointy spikes
Holes (H)
The meaning of the holes value is:
0
= No holes1
= One single holea
= A hole at every tip.
Thickness (Z)
This value represents the thickness in millimeters. For example, 4
stands for 4mm.
Diameter (D)
This refers to the diameter of an imaginary circle around the tips, in millimeters. For instance, 300
stands for 300mm.
