Durable Concrete Mould for Flat Planters

Durable Concrete Mould for Flat Planters

I’m excited to present this durable concrete mould, perfect for crafting flat planters, particularly for succulents and cacti.

This design features a structure that supports M4 metal inserts and M4x16mm countersink head screws, ensuring that the outer shell is securely fastened around the core. Alternatively, you can also use slightly longer M4 screws with a spacer and nut, matching the files provided.

The assembly process begins with the side walls of the core: simply attach them by using duct tape on the flat sides and sealing the joints from the inside with more duct tape for alignment. Next, insert the flat bottom piece into the core and secure it with additional duct tape from the inside. Then, enclose the core with the outer shell, fastening it with the screws. Use duct tape to align and press the middle elements to the outer shell to minimize gaps and ensure a well-sealed assembly.

While the risk of concrete leaking is minimal, any unsealed gaps could cause uneven drying, which is less than ideal. To address this, I opt to submerge the concrete in a water bath as soon as it is solid enough to prevent dry spots and ensure even curing.
